The Roaring Twenties annual tea luncheon of the Estero Historical Society was held February 20, 2012 at Pelican Sound and River Club. Sponsored by the College of Life Foundation, the fundraiser supports the efforts of the Society to restore and preserve Estero’s history in the form of a 1911 schoolhouse on site at the Estero Community Park.

The luncheon featured Marco Island theater and literary “celebrities” Betsy Perdichizzi and Eleanor Burnham. The two women portrayed Tommie Barfield and Lida Burnham as they describe how early Southwest Florida’s clamming turned into a unique industry.
