Laurie Nienhaus , the key note speaker at the 2008 Annual Tea brought home to all of us the real fight that women had in order to get the vote. The fight went on for years and many woman suffered at the hands of the police and political leaders. Many spent nights and weeks in jail.
The ladies that came to the tea got into the spirit of it all. Beverly MacNellis made red, white and blue for all the ladies at her table, banners and signs were made and paraded around by Barbara and Sue Toth.
Yes woman got the vote but it was not easy. Will our granddaughters have any idea what it took? Let’s all hope ALL women use that right.
