Estero Historical Society Members enjoy reciprocal membership in the Bonita Springs Historical Society.
The Bonita Springs Historical Society presents an exclusive exhibit featuring the handwritten notes of the late Jerry Sanford, FDNY Ret., who returned to New York City on September 10, 2001.
His raw account offers a rare and deeply human perspective on the recovery efforts at Ground Zero—never before seen by the public.
Estero Historical Society members are invited to the Members Only Exhibit Preview on Friday, September 5, 2025, from 2:30 PM – 5:30 PM at The Historic McSwain Home located at 27451 Old 41 Rd, Bonita Springs, FL 34135.
As a cherished board member of the Bonita Springs Historical Society, Jerry Sanford brought his passion for storytelling and service to his own community. This exhibit is not only a tribute to his legacy as a first responder, but also to his lasting impact here in Southwest Florida. You are invited to join in honoring his memory and the powerful story he entrusted us to share.
