The Estero Historical Society sponsors a history essay contest each year for local students. The 2025 Estero High School History Essay Contest winner, Natalie Gonzalez Cabera, is pictured at the right above, winning a $1,000 scholarship along with two other students who won in other categories sponsored by other local organizations.
Three Oaks Elementary and Pinewoods Elementary Schools also participated in this year’s Estero Essay Contest. While not present at the High School Awards night, recipients received awards at their schools ranging from $200 for first place, $100 for second and $50 for third place. Honorable Mention Certificates where given to other students who submitted essays.
The scholarships are supported through the Society’s Education and Scholarship Fund.
