In 2004 the Society celebrated the one hundred anniversary of the incorporation of the Town of Estero. The celebration and parade along Highlands Avenue was held on the grounds of the United Methodist Church, about 350 people attended.
The incorporation of Estero, lead by the Koreshans, was short lived. Due to ill feelings between the Koreshans and non-Koreshans, in 1906 Lee County asked the State Legislature to retract the incorporation of Estero. After that, Estero was only a fire district in Lee County.
