About the Author: Charles LeBuff has lived and written on Sanibel Island since 1958. He is a noted sea turtle conservationist and served as Refuge Biologist at J.N. “Ding” Darling National Wildlife Refuge on Sanibel Island for 32 years. During those years he was involved in the protection and mapping of Calusa Indian sites on federal lands in Southwest Florida. His expertise in the history, wildlife, and ecology of the region is legendary. He also served as a charter member of the Sanibel City Council. Autographed by the author.
